We have some sad news! Our brilliant artist and friend Blake Heppell has now left the studio to go back to Australia. Apologies for not telling you all, Blake wanted to keep it a secret so he could surprise his parents when he came back. Everyone here wishes Blake the best, and we’re sure he’ll come back to visit. Blake will now be tattooing in Illicit Tattoo in Queensland, Australia!
We didn’t let Blake go without getting some last tattoos from him. Here’s two he gave to Ian and our Saturday receptionist Ronnie:
Right, let’s show off a couple of things from the week, too. Hayley has some space on Thursday, by the way- get in touch if you want in, because that space is going to go really quickly! Anyway, this rose is awesome- you might not be able to tell from the picture, but this rose is actually hot pink, not red. Hayley’s roses are the best, they’re always beautiful.
Ian did so much this week that some of his work is going to probably spill over into Monday’s post as well! First up, here’s Ian’s customer Lynda’s legs- Ian did the ship’s wheel this week, but you might remember the anchor from a week or two ago. The anchor is still healing, but you can see from the picture that those lines and colours are going to stay in there for life. Tattoos from this studio aren’t going to fall out a week later.
Also, here is another beautiful lady from Ian! This one’s pretty big, but only took just over two hours. Those colours are packed in tight- and she looks lovely! Another happy customer.
Let’s finish the week with two reminders. Firstly, please don’t forget that we will have a guest gracing the studio in October called Scott Banks. Scott is a fantastic tattooer, and will be here from the 3rd-7th of October before he goes to New York. Here’s a really awesome, clean skull from him- you should check out the rest of his work and book in.
Your second reminder is that we’re looking for someone to work here full time. Ian’s the boss man, so it’s best to put here his own words: “I got a large room free for a full time artist. Really good cut; permanent reception, and desk staff to answer all your calls while you’re tattooing, and a computerised booking system to keep you right. If you’re at a studio and you’re good, ill do you a better deal than them haha. No scratchers; be able to draw and tattoo traditional. Inbox me. All inquiries confidential.” Feel free to get in touch!
That’s your lot for this week, we’ll see you again on Monday. Thank you for reading.
