Well, this week’s been a bit mental! On Wednesday, our wonderful guests Thomas Morgan and Shon Lindauer left Amsterdam on a boat and departed here in sunny Newcastle to begin their guest spots here. The guys are so enthusiastic about being at the studio they actually started tattooing the next day instead of taking a rest. We’ve had a brilliant few days with the guys already, and are really excited about the next couple of weeks working alongside them. Both Thomas and Shon have some limited space, still, so we’d recommend booking in as soon as possible. We’ll have some pictures of the work they’ve already done really soon, probably in our Monday update.
Everyone else in the studio has been up to their usual tricks, so it’s been pretty damn busy. A heads up for you guys here: Paul is fully booked next week, but has limited space for the week after. If you’ve been thinking about getting tattoos from him, hurry the hell up! What’s taking you so long? Here’s something he did this week- a beautiful foot tattoo on a girl called Ashleigh.
We also have a really cool tattoo from Hayley this week. This lady went abroad and made friends with a really special elephant. What better souvenir could you get? Hayley nailed it, once again.
They say variety is the spice of life. I don’t know who “they” are, but let’s take on their advice and stick some Japanese work in here, too. This is the start to a really wonderful foo dog half sleeve by Ian. In Japan, foo dogs are really popular statues called komainu, which are used to ward off evil spirits. That can be the thing you’ve learned today, if you didn’t already know that. Anyway, this rocks, and we can’t wait to show you the finished tattoo when we can!
Do we have room to squeeze in another piece from this week? Why not, eh? Here’s a new piece from Lauren, one of our apprentices. If you didn’t already know, Lauren and Siobhan are tattooing in the studio for only £30 an hour, for a limited time. Don’t be put off by the price, though- they’re already awesome. This is a tattoo from Lauren of Invader Zim. If you don’t know who Invader Zim is, you’re either too young or too old- Google it, haha.
That’s your lot for this week! On Monday we’ll be back again, and should have some cool work from everyone else here, including Thomas and Shon. Thanks again for reading!
