Sometimes, choice can be a bad thing. While we’re ready for our friends Thomas Morgan and Shon Lindauer to come to the studio on the 30th, some of you guys seem confused as to who you want to book in with. We don’t blame you at all, they’re both such awesome tattooers it’s hard to choose only one. However, since their spaces are filling up so quickly, you’re going to have to play Sophie’s Choice before you miss your chance. To help, here’s some quick information about both the guys:
Thomas loves to travel. He loves guest spots and meeting new people- this means he’s learned a lot about tattooing and is a terribly amazing traditional tattooer. He has a real no-bullshit approach to what he does, which shows in his clean lines in his work. When Thomas isn’t travelling, he’s working in Spotlight Tattoo in LA, which is an amazing studio in itself. You may have also seen Thomas on a TV show called Tattoo Highway, where he tattoos half the population of America on a bus! See his work here.
Shon also loves travelling, so the same rules apply to him. He also does traditional work, which he usually carries out at Thicker Than Water, in New York. Thicker Than Water is regarded as one of the best studios on the East Coast, as are many New York studios. In Shon’s world, Vintage Traditional is king, and he shows it in incredible work with brilliant technique and style. Shon is a really popular tattoo artist, and for good reason. See Shon’s work here!
We’re really excited and honoured to have both Thomas and Shon here at the end of the month. Hopefully those small titbits of information have helped you make your mind up. Still can’t choose? Book in with both guys. It’d be worth it.
We promised more news from last week, too, so here we go! First up, here’s a lovely start to the colour sessions of a sleeve Ian’s been working on. It’s beautiful. May I draw your attention to the way the woman’s hair is shaded here, and the direction of the highlights? That’s how real tattooers do it. ;)
We also promised you a horse from Dave. Here’s a really beautiful one he did last week- Dave likes drawing things from funfairs and circuses, so if you’ve been thinking about getting a tattoo like this, Dave’s your man. You can book in by coming down to the studio, as with anyone here.
That’s your lot for now, check back here on Saturday evening for more news!
